Sketch Break!
If you only know me through this website you may not know that I grew up loving to draw and even took several summer art classes, but stopped late in high school because I didn’t think I was any good. I only picked it up again in my 40s when I started seriously working on my Spoonflower site and the designs I wanted to make were only possible if I sketched them out.
I’m never going to be a brilliant true to life artist; everything I draw will probably look a little cartoonish, but I’ve come to appreciate what I can do with that aesthetic. So for this post, which goes up on my birthday, I’m celebrating my rediscovered love of drawing by starting a new series about the simple joys I find in knitting. (Which also gives me an excuse to practice drawing hands.)
